The Law of Attraction – What does it really mean?
Dec 7th, 2007 by Rae Ann
The Law of Attraction … what does that really mean? It is one of the Natural Laws of the Universe that is getting increasing attention as the book and movie, “The Secret” is gaining popularity.
“How are you doing?” … This is a question we are asked many times every day. Doesn’t it seem that often the person asking is not listening, nor even cares what we answer? In fact they are usually already onto their next sentence! As I have become to understand and appreciate the Law of Vibration, I have found that my automatic answer is increasingly, “Perfect!” It is great fun to watch people’s reaction to a different sort of answer, especially when it is such a positive one. I also find it puts the person I am interacting with in a great foundation for the Law of Vibration as I proceed in the conversation.
We have heard of the Law of Attraction, as well as the description of magnetism, “like attracts like.” Taking a broader perspective the Law of Attraction is actually one form of the Law of Vibration. Everything in our Universe vibrates; nothing rests. In fact motion is the only thing that is constant! … In short, we are living in an ocean of motion. As stated in Chapter 2 of The SGR Home Study Course, we are always moving towards something and it is always moving towards us – it’s a combination of action and attraction. Perhaps that is the reason why the word “action” is embedded in the word “attraction.”
Our thoughts are vibrations that we send out to the Universe. When we concentrate, the vibrations are even stronger. Thought is the most potent vibration. Whether the vibrations are good or bad depends on us. It is totally based on our own interpretation. In fact, we have complete free will to create what you wish. It sounds simple, but experience demonstrates that this is not easy to implement. It takes practice and persistence. In fact as Bob Proctor states, “Thinking is the hardest work we do!”
Since vibration is everything, I have learned that I must take action to constantly and diligently focus on creating positive thoughts that move me forward.
What are some things I do ensure the Law of Vibration is complementing and magnifying what I am doing?
- I write down five Successes every night as a part of my preparation to sleep ritual. This exercise is extremely empowering and powerful since it positions you to focus on the positives of the day. This activates your creative subconscious just as we go to sleep. The SGR Home Study Course best describes this as the “stick man” who has two halves of the brain … the top half is the conscious and the bottom half is the unconscious. Thoughts build ideas in the conscious mind and ideas stir emotions in the subconscious mind. It is these emotions that move the body into action and are seen in life as our results. Bob Proctor refers to this as the “stick man”.
- I identify – and write down – six “Impossibles” every morning before breakfast. These are most effective when they are something that I believe is impossible for ,e to achieve. As with any goal the more specific you can be the more effective the exercise is. The result of this exercise is that I will find that my mind is expanding with regards to what really is possible. Going through the rigor of writing it down is important. In fact, I find often I am preparing to write something like “I am going to teach 10 people”, but when I am in my “It’s Impossible” mode, I ask if I could achieve 10 if I really wanted to I tell myself, “yes” and then write down “I am going to teach 100 people.” This mind expanding exercise is enlightening!
- I use the times when I am in high vibration to my advantage. Although I am still new to this “Vibration Thing,” I have found that when I am buzzing from a high energy positive experience that I use this to reach out specifically to others that are having tough times or closing something I have been working on. It is exciting, fun … and powerful!
- Leveraging the energy of others by arranging for all to concentrate the power of their positive vibrations at the same time. Recently within a very supportive group of which I am a member we worked together to set strong intentions as two of our members were going through tough situations. We set up a conference call and at that time each visualized the team member in their future positive state. The feedback we received from them is that they felt our presence across the country!
- Using powerful positive thinking in the form of positive affirmations, it is possible to achieve whatever we want. Professionals can use these techniques to develop personal power or gain a competitive edge. At a personal level it will transform our life, our health and renew our joy and passion for life. Imagine waking up each morning, bursting with excitement, energy and joy for the new day! Powerful affirmations that are stated in the present tense, even if we are not there yet. Repeating them out loud and with emotion while placing your hand on your heart will enhance the power of your work. These affirmations will help you stay focused on what is important as you go through your day. I find that I will choose to take action that helps me advance my affirmation ultimately achieving the desired result. Developing a positive mindset is one of the most powerful life strategies there is.
When we activate our subconscious brain, the Law of Vibration is at work. When we program our brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve our dreams. We activate the Law of Attraction, thereby drawing into our life the people, resources, and circumstances we will need to achieve our objectives. It builds our internal motivation to take the necessary actions!
It is important to realize that independent if we recognize this or not this … and the other natural laws of the universe … still are at work – much like the law of gravity. Science did not always have a name for gravity, but it was always there. I did not understand this until I began my study of the SGR home study course (available at www.RetireFree.org). Once we understood the law of gravity, we could more easily use it to our advantage. The Law of Vibration is and always will be. Use it to make great things happen! I am so happy and grateful now that I have the SGR program and I am able to passionately study this every day of my life! I realize it is up to me to determine if we choose to learn how to use the Law of Attraction … and the Law of Vibration to our advantage.
“The mind in itself and in its own place can make a hell out of heaven or a heaven out of hell.” (John Milton)
